♥ ♥ ♥ 2019 is upon us and HY DRA TION is back at **TRUCK Contemporary Art** Saturday January 12!!! We’re ready to unveil the juiciest scientific breakthrough to keep you hydrated for another queer as heck dance party ♥ ♥ ♥
THEME: >>> SUBLIMATION <<<
INSPO: The mysterious science of water, dry ice, Y2K, test tubes, lava lamps, molecular structures, strange textures, gases, crystals, ASMR slime vids, liquid nitrogen, kaleidoscopes, Bill Nye, acids & bases, the process of changing from a solid to a gas without passing through a liquid phase… AKA sublimation ;) ;)
featuring Artist in Residence / Feature Droplet **Frick Owens**
Frick Owens is a space navigator on a mission to create otherworldly experiences. Playing with colour, shapes, and objects to create a metaphysical environment for everyone to enjoy, Y2K and retro-futurism aesthetics are catalyzed in a juicy installation for your parched eyes.
ALSO featuring Visual Artist **Mat Lindenberg**
Mat Lindenberg is an artist interested in futility; cycles of futility, whether futility exists, what makes something futile, and if futile poetic gestures are inherently futile or if in fulfilling their purpose they transcend futility. He would like to believe that this is true but it requires further research and he is not sure how committed he is to going as far as he needs to go to figure it out.
ALSO ALSO featuring Preparty Screening of **NITE RIDE** and Artist Talk with Co-Director **Danni Black**
Nite Ride is a short grindhouse film made by local BIPOC artists and filmmakers. Four friends go on an evening bike ride while, unbeknown to them, they are being stalked by blood thirsty creatures of the night.
